Two Missing Kids Found; Krasner Fires Dozens Assist DA's; Vine Street Expressway Re-Opened

Philadelphia Police have now located two young boys who went missing in West Oak Lane on Sunday. The two boys, 10-year-old Tramyer Jones and 6-year-old Nasyre Jones, were seen leaving their house located on the 1800 block of E. Pastorius Street at around 1:30 pm. Luckily the boys were found by officials just after 5 pm, they are now home with their family.

Philadelphia's new district attorney Larry Krasner has been "clearing house" at the district attorney's office. Krasner reportedly fired dozens of assistant DAs on Friday. Many assistants DAs were seen on Friday packing up their offices and loading boxes into cars waiting outside. Many of them were brought in on the day off and told they were fired with no explanation. This comes about after Krasner promised in his candidacy to clear out an "office shuddered by the corruption conviction of former DA Seth Williams."

All of the lanes are now open again on the Vine Street Expressway after a broken water line formed ice along the road. The water main break happened at around 5 am on Sunday at a parking garage at 17th and Callowhill Streets in the Spring Garden section. Officials say that the water spilled down onto the expressway forming a sheet of ice. PennDOT crews arrived shortly after and started to salt and remove the ice from the road. The westbound lanes finally opened up after 8 am and the eastbound lanes just after 9 am. Luckily no accidents or injuries were reported.

Weather

Today, Cloudy with a wintery mix in the late afternoon and a high of 33 degrees in Center City.
