Police in California have arrested the friend of a University of Pennsylvania student who was found dead in a park after being missing for a week. The Orange County Sheriff's Office says that 20-year-old Samuel Lincoln Woodward of Newport Beach was taken into custody on Friday. 19-year-old Blaze Bernstein went missing on Jan. 2nd. He was last seen by a friend around 11 p.m. entering Borrego Park in the Foothill Ranch area of the city of Lake Forest. After an extensive search, Bernstein's body was found in brush outside of the park on Tuesday, Jan. 9th. Bernstein was back home in Southern California on winter break. He had gone to the park with a friend who was interviewed by investigators who noted his dirty hands and nervous disposition. It is not clear if Samuel Woodward and that person are the same. Charges against Woodward are pending. Results from an autopsy have not been released. Police are still working on a possible motive.

UPDATE: DNA evidence linked Woodward to the death of Bernstein. Woodward was the last person to see Bernstein alive. He was the friend that went to the park with him on January 2nd. Woodward is also the friend described in a search warrant affidavit by a sheriff's investigator as being nervous, with scratched hands and dirt under his fingernails, and avoided touching doors with his hands.

After a warm and wet Friday, get ready for a temperature free fall on Saturday morning. Rain will continue to soak the area into the middle of the night and those spring like 60s will try hold on overnight. Once the rain stops the temperatures are going to jump off a cliff from about 60 degrees at 4 a.m. to the 30s by 7 a.m. The Philadelphia Eagles kickoff forecast: 30 degrees, Clear, wind 16 mph. Winter we hardly missed you.

Frank Moran was sworn in as the new Mayor of Camden, NJ on Friday evening at the Antioch Baptist Church. Moran was the longtime Council President and a lifelong city resident. He succeeds outgoing mayor Dana Redd.
