Philadelphia Police are now investigating after a man was shot in the Kensington section of Philadelphia during a traffic stop. This is when the officer noticed a bulge coming from the passenger's waistband, he opened the door and patted the area and felt a handgun. The officer then alerted his partner, who drew his firearm. The passenger then tried to pull out his gun while exiting the car. While this was happening, two other highway patrol officers stopped to assist, the officers say that the passenger began to run at this point. The second officer at the car fired 1 round towards the passenger and one of the responding officers fired 4 rounds at the passenger. The 22-year-old passenger was taken to taken into custody as well as to Temple University Hospital with gunshot wounds to the torso and face; he is listed in critical condition. The 26-year-old driver of the car was not charged with any offense.
