Philadelphia Police are searching for a suspect wanted in the sexual assault of a Drexel University student over the weekend. It happened on the 3400 block of Race Street about 6 a.m. this past Saturday, January 27th. The 22-year-old female student was asleep in her apartment when she awoke and found an unknown black male on top of her. They started to struggle and the suspect forced her to the floor. That is when he sexually assaulted her. When the victim fell asleep, the suspect fled and contacted police. Police have released a surveillance video of the suspect. He is described as a black male, 25-30 years-of-age, medium complexion, 5'8", medium build, short hair, wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and tan boots. Anyone with information should call 215-686-TIPS (8477). See video below.

Police are investigating after two women, a mother and daughter, were found shot to death inside their Northeast Philadelphia home late on Monday night. Police were called to the 1200 block of Greeby Street in the Oxford Circle neighborhood around 11:30 p.m. Monday. They discovered 66-year-old Adeline Hill in her wheelchair and her daughter, 42-year-old Renee Cosom, on the second floor hallway. Both woman had been shot in the head. Cosom's 39-year-old boyfriend, who also lives there, answered the door when police arrived. He is currently in custody. A handgun was recovered from the scene. The investigation in ongoing.

Philadelphia Police have identified the driver shot and killed by an off-duty officer in South Philly on Monday morning. 31-year-old Khalil Lawal on Arlington, VA was at the wheel of a black Honda around 7:30 a.m. near Broad and Bigler streets. He was reportedly driving erratically and struck a pedestrian. When he came to a stop, the driver was approached by an off-duty detective. Lawal charged the detective and a struggle ensued. The officer fired his service weapon about 10 times, hitting the suspect in the torso, legs, and face. Lawal was taken to the hospital where he later died. The off-duty detective was treated for minor injuries. Commissioner Richard Ross says that the struggle was caught on surveillance video. He did say he was concerned with the number of shots the detective fired. The officer was placed on administrative duty while the incident is investigated.
