The Archbishops of Philadelphia and Boston have gotten into the Super Bowl spirit and entered a friendly charitable wager. Cardinal Sean P. O'Malley of Boston and Archbishop Charles J. Chaput also happen to be friends and classmates from their seminary days. If the Philadelphia Eagles win, Cardinal Sean will donate $100 to St. John's Hospice, which provides emergency services and direction to homeless men in Center City. If the New England Patriots win, Archbishop Chaput will donate $100 to Catholic Charities of Boston, which provides social services to individuals and families throughout Massachusetts. They also included cheesesteaks and lobster, "for good measure." Chaput's prediction: Eagles 24 Patriots 20. O'Malley's prediction: Patriots 34 Eagles 21

This is their joint statement: "Each year the Super Bowl is viewed by millions of people throughout the world. In the spirit of friendly competition, we have issued our wager because we have confidence in our teams and, more importantly, based on our admiration for the commitment of the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots to assist their local communities and respond to the needs of the less fortunate.

It is a blessing for the people of Philadelphia and Boston that Jeffrey Lurie and Robert Kraft have always held service to others as a foundational principle of their personal and professional lives. We pray for a safe and enjoyable Super Bowl for both teams and all spectators, and that the gifts of God's love and peace may bring us closer together as a society."

The Philadelphia area will be adding a new area code soon. The overlay that currently has 215 and 267 will be getting a third area code 445. It has been reported that would be this Saturday, February 3rd, but according to the Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission that is not correct. The soonest numbers with the 445 area code will be assigned will be in March. Besides covering Philadelphia, the overlay includes parts of Berks, Bucks, Lehigh, and Montgomery counties. Be ready, soon enough, these strange numbers may show up on your caller id, but they are really just new local numbers.

Wawa announced that in celebration of the Philadelphia Eagles making it to the 'Big Game' they are offering free coffee, any size on Sunday until kickoff at 6:30 p.m. This is good in all the Mid-Atlantic stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC. "As a company with roots in the Philadelphia area, Wawa is thrilled to take part in the excitement of its hometown team playing to bring a championship to the City of Brotherly Love. And in stores across the Philadelphia region, the enthusiasm surrounding this year's championship-bound football team from customers and associates has been unlike any other."
