As many Philadelphia residents are ready for the Eagles to play in Super Bowl LII, one man is going above and beyond to ensure the Eagles' pride stays true in Philadelphia. Eagles' fan Jordy Demcher has been guarding the Rocky statue so that no one can put up any Patriots gear on the statue. Demcher started guarding the statue because when the Vikings came to play for the NFC Championship, some of their fans dressed the statue up in Vikings gear. Demcher says that he's not taking any chances of that happening with Patriots gear and that it's his job to defend the statue and what it stands for, "hope." Demcher plans to be outside guarding the statue for a few hours every night until the Super Bowl this upcoming Sunday; he is encouraging others to join him as well. See Video below.

One man was killed in a shooting on Wednesday afternoon that happened outside of Lincoln High School in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia. Police responded to the high school after getting calls about a large fight and gun shots fired in the school's parking lot at around 3:51 pm. When police arrived they found a 32-year-old man with two gunshot wounds to the leg, he was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The school was put on lockdown during the shooting as there was two basketball games happening with many students inside of the gymnasium. The lockdown was later lifted after the scene was cleared. Police are still searching for the suspect responsible for the shooting.

UPDATE: It started inside around 3:50 p.m. during a basketball game between Lincoln and Audenried Charter School. About 15-20 adults entered the gym and stood around the sidelines. The principal escorted them outside and they were followed by another group of adults. A brawl broke out involving 25-30 adults. One person pulled a gun and opened fire. Police are investigating several possible motives for the brawl. No student was involved.

With Super Bowl Sunday just a couple days away, the City of Philadelphia is preparing for the big game and for any rowdiness from fans that may arise. At Frankford and Cottman Avenues, which is a big gathering spot for city celebrations, the Streets Department installed LED lights on Wednesday. This will provide a brighter and safer area for fans to gather. Many local business, especially bars, are planning safety plans for the big game. Many bars will have extra bouncers on staff to ensure safety for patrons at the bars. Police are also advising drivers to try and avoid streets in the city that are known to hold celebrations as they could be busy and too crowded drive through.
