Activists in Philadelphia are fighting for 70 plus families that could be evicted this Wednesday from local residences that they have been staying in since coming from Puerto Rico. The families moved over after many of their homes were destroyed after Hurricane Maria struck the country. The eviction is coming about because the feds will stop paying the Transitional Shelter Assistance (TSA). Advocates are trying to help the families find housing so they do not end up homeless. Mayor Kenney said although it is a federal issue, he will look into the situation.

Delaware's public health director stated that from the start of the flu season up to February 3rd, the state has had nearly 3,000 cases of the flu, nearly 1,000 of them in the past week. So far 6 of the flu victims have passed away from their illness. They ranged in ages 60-93 and all had underlying medical conditions. Officials are urging anyone that may be showing symptoms of the flu to stay home and to see their primary physician rather than going to the emergency room.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has decided to re-open the TSA Pre-Check enrollment center at the Philadelphia Airport. TSA Pre-Check gives passengers a quicker way to move through security, by screening vetted, trusted passengers before the security line. The program gives your personal information and travel history to TSA officials where they are able to determine whether you are a risk or not. Officials say that the wait time is usually around five minutes, whereas regular passengers in security could wait 15-20 minutes. Passengers still need to follow the 3oz liquid and gel rules for their carry on bags. A five year membership costs $85, or $17 a year.
