PECO officials are warning locals to protect themselves from a string of recent scams targeting their customers. The suspects are calling customers disguised as PECO employees saying that their electric will be cut off unless a payment is made. PECO has stated that none of the calls could be them as they would never demand money on the spot. If you come across one of these imposters, officials ask that you contact your local police.

Police in Camden County are investigating after a car crash killed an 8-year-old girl and injured a man. The crash happened just before 4:30 pm on the 400 block of State Street. Police say the 84-year-old man lost control of his car, jumping the curb and hitting a girl who was riding her bike on the sidewalk. The man also hit a 40-year-old man who was sitting on a set of nearby steps. The girl was rushed to Cooper Medical Center where she later died from her injuries. The man was also taken to Cooper where he is listed in stable condition. No charges have been filed as of yet.

Federal authorities have stated that a Delaware man broke off a finger of a $4.5 million statue at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. Officials say that 24-year-old Michael Rohana was attending a an Ugly Sweater Party at the Franklin Institute on December 21st, when he entered the "Terracotta Warriors of the First Emperor" exhibit. While posing next to the statue for a picture, Rohana apparently broke off the left thumb of the statue known as "The Cavalryman." Museum officials noticed the thumb was missing back on January 8th and traced the crime to Rohana 5 days later. The museum is working to get the statue fixed.
