The Philadelphia Police Department announced that they are holding a gun buyback program this Friday March 2nd. The program will take place next to the Official Unlimited Store located on North Broad Street at 10 am on Friday. People will be able to come by and surrender their gun. Police ask anyone bringing in a gun to be surrendered, to have them unloaded so it is safe to take. Trained tactical personnel will be on site to ensure the safety of the gun for processing. In exchange for the gun, they will receive a $75 gift card to the Official Unlimited store.

A Pennsylvania state representative from Delaware County is facing sexual assault charges and calls to step down from office after two women accused him of sexual assault and misconduct. Republican State Rep. Nick Miccarelli from Ridley Park is facing charges after the accusers reported that he harmed one of the victims and forced the other victim into sexual acts. The victims are a current state official and a political consult, who both had previously dated Miccarelli. The state official said that he would kick, punch and hit her even at legislative events they attended together. The political consult stated that after breaking up, Miccarelli showed up at her home and forced her to have sex. Miccarelli wrote in a statement on Facebook "Unfortunately, I cannot disprove something that never happened, but I can tell you these allegations, if true, would have been reported to the cops, the DA, or another law enforcement agency, No charges were ever filed because these are complete fabrications." PA Governor Tom Wolf stated he thinks Miccarelli should resign and the allegations be investigated further.

Walmart announced on Wednesday that it will no longer sell firearms and ammunition to anyone under the age of 21. They will also no longer sell any guns resembling assault-style rifles from their website. Walmart officials say this decision comes about after the deadly school shooting that took place in Parkland, Florida, where the teenage gunman used an AR-15. Walmart had previously ended selling AR-15's and other semi-automatic rifles back in 2015. The company also refrains from selling bump stocks and large-capacity rounds as well as handguns, except in Alaska. Other companies including Dick's Sporting Goods announced a similar change to their gun policy on Wednesday.
