The suspect wanted in connection to a series of package bombs in the Texas capital of Austin blew himself up on Wednesday morning as authorities closed in. 24-year-old Mark Anthony Conditt of Pflugerville, just north of the city, is accused of killing two people and injuring four others in 5 bombings in March. Three of the bombings occurred when the victims opened packages sent to their homes. The fourth bombing was triggered by trip wire. The fifth bombing occurred when a package exploded on a conveyor belt in a FedEx facility near San Antonio. Police were able to zero in on Conditt through surveillance footage at the shipping facilities and signature parts used to construct each bomb. They located him inside his vehicle in a hotel parking lot. When members of SWAT approached the vehicle, Conditt denotated an explosive inside. Authorities do not yet understand a motive for the attacks.

New Jersey authorities have identified the armed man killed in a standoff with police at a restaurant in Princeton on Tuesday. 56-year-old Scott Mielentz of Lawrenceville, NJ, but previously of Newtown, PA, was shot and killed by police after a nearly 5 hour standoff. It began around 10 a.m. at the Panera Bread restaurant on Nassau Street across from Princeton University. The school is on spring break, but two campus buildings were evacuated as a precaution. Employees and customers were able to flee the building. The standoff ended at 3 p.m. The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office said "negotiators attempted unsuccessfully to get the suspect to surrender peacefully." No one else was injured in the incident.

The fourth nor'easter this month is pounding the Philadelphia area today with heavy snow. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 2 a.m. Thursday morning. Many areas could see at least a foot of snow by the time the storm exits the region. PennDOT has placed speed restrictions on most area highways. There is also a ban on many types of trucks and trailers on highways in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Philadelphia and area communities have declared snow emergencies. Make sure you move your vehicle from snow emergency routes for plowing or you may be towed. NJ Transit has suspended bus service. SEPTA Regional Rail is running on a Saturday schedule.

The Villanova University Men's Basketball team had trouble getting off campus on the Main Line this afternoon. The team was headed to the airport to catch their chartered flight to Boston. They face off against West Virginia in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCCA Tournament on Friday night at 7:27pm.
