An 18-year-old foreign exchange student was arrested after making a threat against a Delaware County catholic high school. Upper Darby Police announced on Wednesday that An-Tso Sun of Taiwan has been charged with terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another. Sun attends Bonner Prendergast High School. He told another student not to come to school on May 1st because he was planning on shooting up the school, and then said he was kidding. Not taking any chances, the student informed faculty who called police. Police searched Sun's home and found a military-style ballistic vest, a high-powered crossbow and arrows, 20 live rounds, and other gear, but no guns. He was arrested at school and arraigned Tuesday night. He remains at Delaware County jail on $100,000 bail. Sun came to the United States last August on a student visa.

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele announced the arrests of two drug traffickers and the seizure of heroin, fentanyl, and carfentanil after a months-long investigation. It started last June when 26-year-old Jamil Chapman had to be revived after overdosing in the elevator of the Royal Athena apartment building in Lower Merion. Authorities discovered heroin, fentanyl, and the much stonger carfentanil in his apartment. "Carfentanil is an elephant tranquilizer," said Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele. "This poison can incapacitate a 6,600-pound elephant and someone is selling it, this incredibly deadly poison, to humans." Jamil and his nephew, 23-year-old Nasai Chapman, ordered the carfentanil from China and had it shipped to locations in Lower and Upper Merion. They would mix it with heroin before selling it on the streets. "This is the first time that we've found and seized Carfentanil and found it to be trafficked here in Montgomery County," said Steele. They are facing numerous charges including possession with intent to deliver and operating a corrupt organization. They are being held on $250,000 cash bail.

Four family members have been arrested for neglect and financial abuse of an 84-year-old Bucks County man. Albert Weaver Sr. died in November of 2016 after being hospitalized for starvation and septic shock from deep, infected bed sores. 52-year-old Albert Weaver Jr., his wife, 49-year-old Virginia Weaver, their daughter, 26-year-old Amanda Weaver, and 33-year-old Anthony Dorney, who is Amanda Weaver’s live-in boyfriend have all been charged. A paramedic that transported Weaver Sr. to the hospital said he "looked like a skeleton with skin hanging on him.” The four lived rent- and utility-free in houses that Weaver Sr. owned. "All of them were benefiting from him financially. Living in his own home, rent free, utility free, he was paying for all of their bills," said Bucks County Deputy District Attorney Kate Kohler. "All they had to do was take care of him and they did not do that."
