Tractor-trailer Fell Off Ramp, Spills Kegs; Defense Calls Accuser 'Con Artist'; Car Hits Trenton DMV

A tractor-trailer lost control and fell off an overpass, landed on I-95, and spilled its cargo of empty beer kegs this morning in Bensalem, Bucks County. It happened around 9 a.m. near the Cornwells Park and Ride between the Woodhaven and Street Road exits. The 18-wheeler had just exited from I-95 southbound and was crossing over the interstate towards towards park-and-ride when it fell off the overpass and landed in the northbound lanes. It was carrying a load of empty beer kegs which scattered all over the highway. Another vehicle travelling northbound crashed into the wreckage. Neither driver was seriously injured. The highway was closed for about 1 ½ hours for cleanup. Investigators are trying to determine what caused the accident.

Bill Cosby's defense team made it clear that they were going to go directly after the credibility of his accuser, Andrea Constand, in this retrial. Lawyer Tom Mesereau called her a "con artist" in his opening statements. He said that she was "madly in love" with the entertainer's fame and money and "hit the jackpot" when she was awarded $3.4 million in a civil settlement over the accusations. The defense plans to call, Marguerite Jackson, a former colleague of Constand's at Temple University. Jackson will testify that Constand talked about setting up a celebrity so she could sue for a large amount of money. The jury was not permitted to hear the amount of the settlement and Jackson's testimony was not allowed at last year's trial.

A car crashed into the front of a building on Trenton, NJ, this morning. It happened around 10:30 a.m. on the 200 block of East State Street. Coincidentally, it is the Department of Motor Vehicles building in Trenton. No word on any injuries. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Weather
