Philly DA Deals in Ofc. Wilson III Case; $5k Reward in 5yo Hit-and-Run; NJ Red Hen Getting Trolled

The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office has agreed to a plea deal with the two men charged in the murder of Philadelphia Police Sergeant Robert Wilson III. Carlton Hipps and Ramone Williams will no longer face the death penalty. They will plead guilty and be sentenced to life in prison plus 50-100 years. The DA's office called to inform Wilson's family of the deal on Friday. The family opposes the plea deal. The entire incident was caught on surveillance video in front of many witness. It happened in March 2015 at a Game Stop store in North Philadelphia. Wilson was at the store to do a security check and was also purchasing a game for his son's birthday when the two brothers came in and announced a robbery. Gunfire broke out and Wilson was hit multiple times. He continued to shoot while protecting the customers. He was been honored as a hero. There is a hearing scheduled on Monday.

There is a $5,000 reward in connection to a hit-and-run that killed a 5-year-old in West Philadelphia. It happened around 4 p.m. on Friday, 6/22, on the 5000 block of Irving Street near 50th Street. Xavier Roy was struck by a blue, four-door Hyundai Sonata, model year between 2015 and 2017 (picture below). He was rushed to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and died shortly after. The reward is posted by the Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police for information leading to the arrest of the individual responsible. You can call Philadelphia Police at 215-686-TIPS.

UPDATE: The car wanted in connection to a deadly hit-and-run Friday night in West Philadelphia was turned in to the 26th police district on Sunday night. No arrests have been made.

UPDATE: Police are not sure if the car that was surrendered on Sunday night is the car that struck the boy. Police interviewed the owner and released them. They must examiner the vehicle further. Officials only know the car was in the area.

On Friday night, 6/22, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders was denied service at a restaurant called the Red Hen in Lexington, VA. The owner told her it was because she works in the Trump administration. She politely left. Commentators on the internet have not been so polite, and many times have not even gotten the restaurant in question correct. There is an eatery in DC called Red Hen that is fighting off comments and bad reviews. There is also a restaurant here in Swedesboro, NJ, called The Red Hen that is getting flooded with posts. Neither of those two are affiliated in any way with the one in Virginia. Check twice before you post, and maybe hold back on that negative comment to begin with.
