The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office has announced that a suspect has been arrested in connection to the murder of model Christina Kraft last week. 30-year-old Jonathan Wesley Harris of Johnstown, PA, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals on Wednesday, 8/29, in Pittsburgh. They greeted him as he arrived by bus fleeing the Philadelphia area. He is charged with first, second, and third-degree murder, robbery and theft. He had just been released from state prison on July 15.

On Wednesday, 8/22, Kraft took a ride share into Center City early in the morning from her Ardmore apartment. She met Harris near 13th and Broad. Around 3 a.m., the pair traveled back to her apartment. An anonymous tipster told police that Harris texted them about being in Kraft's apartment. Video shows the pair arrive at the building. The front door was opened at 3:08 a.m. Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said that Kraft's death was violent. She was beaten and then strangled. Harris was not seen leaving the apartment but the back door to a terrace was closed at 5:19 a.m. Kraft was discovered later that evening by police doing a welfare check. Authorities are still trying to determine what kind of prior relationship, if any, Kraft and Harris may have had. They are also still searching for 31-year-old Andre Milton of Philadelphia who is wanted in connection to a robbery at Kraft's apartment days before her murder. They do not know if the two incidents are connected.

Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill has been giving back to Philadelphia school students this week as they return for the school year. Mill partnered with Puma and is handing out 6,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to elementary students in 12 schools over two days. On Wednesday, 8/30, Mill returned to his Alma Mater at James G. Blane Elementary in Strawberry Mansion to personally deliver 500 bags to children whose families might not be able to afford them. The kids were definitely surprised not just by the gifts, but also the celebrity appearance in the North Philadelphia school. "This is about an individual who attended this school. And what he represents to the students is the fact that he was successful no matter the challenges, but more importantly that he is also giving back to his community," said Dr. William R. Hite, Superintendent, School District of Philadelphia. "Only message I want the kids to get from me is that anything is possible and never let anything hold you back and keep moving forward," Meek Mill said. He will be giving more bags out at another school on Thursday. Meek Mill is also one of headliners this Saturday night at the Made in America Festival on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

A Philadelphia homeless man is now suing the young couple who set up an online fundraiser for him as a thank you after he helped the young woman last year. Katie McClure became stranded on I-95 when she ran out of gas. Johnny Bobbitt used his last $20 to buy gas so Katie could get on her way. She returned to the spot a number of times to repay him and bring food and water, but wanted to do more. Katie and her boyfriend set up a GoFundMe page that went viral and raised more than $400,000. Bobbitt bought a truck, got a mobile home, and presumably the couple had financial planners create trust funds so he could have some steady income and but also protected savings. Bobbitt is now suing McClure and her boyfriend Mark D'Amico saying they have mismanaged a large portion of those donations. The couple denies the accusations and say they are worried about giving him money because he has/may spend it on drugs. There is a hearing scheduled on Thursday.
