Bud Light Philly Special Statue Unveiled; NJ Couple Ordered to Testify; O'Hara Hosts OLA Students

Bud Light unveiled a new statue in front of Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia to immortalize one of the most memorable moments from Super Bowl LII. It was late in the second quarter and the Philadelphia Eagles had the ball on 4th and Goal. Super Bowl MVP QB Nick Foles approached Head Coach Doug Pederson on the sidelines. He asked, "You want Philly Philly?" After a pause, Pederson replied, "Yeah, let's do it." The trick play, known as "Philly Special," involved a direct snap to RB Cory Clement, followed by a pitch to TE Trey Burton on the reverse, and then a pass to Foles who was wide open in the end zone for a touchdown. The new bronze statue depicts the moment Foles approached Pederson for the play call on the sidelines. It will remain in Headhouse Plaza for at least this season.

A New Jersey judge has ordered a South Jersey couple to appear in court to answer questions about $400,000 raised through GoFundMe for a homeless Philadelphia man last year. Last week, Judge Paula Dow had ordered Kate McClure and Mark D'Amico to turn over any remaining funds to an escrow account while a full accounting of the spending could take place. The couple has not turned over any money, and the attorney for the homeless man, John Bobbitt, learned from the couple's attorney that all the money was supposedly gone. Both sides also disagree on the amount already given to Bobbitt. Judge Dow wants to question the couple in person. They must also give depositions. Ernest Badway, the attorney for McClure and D'Amico, told the court that his clients plan to invoke their 5th amendment rights.

Elementary school students from Our Lady of Angels Regional Catholic School in Morton, Delaware County, started classes today despite a fire that destroyed their school over the summer. Around 400 students from pre-k to 8th grade attend Our Lady of Angels. They will be using space at Cardinal O'Hara High School in Springfield. The younger students will utilize the first floor of the high school, while O'Hara students will use upper level classrooms. A massive 3-alarm fire destroyed the OLA school building on the grounds of Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish back on July 19th.
