Valley Forge Casino Resort Awarded License for Table Games

The Gaming Control Board of Pennsylvania has awarded the Valley Forge Casino Resort a license for table games. The casino is still under construction and is expected to open this spring. It currently had a license to operate 600 slot machines, but now can make room for 50 table games, 23 of which can be blackjack.

Alex Figueras, a casino official, explained to the gaming board how approval means more money for the host township of Upper Merion. “Our pledge to Upper Merion Township will increase from $415,000 to $625,000 for traffic improvements, and our annual contribution to Upper Merion Township will increase from $75,000 to $142,500,” Figueras said. Upper Merion will also get 1% of gross revenues from table games.

Valley Forge Casino's website explains their expected games "Table action? We’ll have all your favorites. Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Pai Gow Poker, and Mini and Midi Baccarat. Crave slots? We’ve got that covered too. All your favorite slots and denominations will be on hand...".

Unlike other Philadelphia area casinos such as Harrah's Chester, Sugarhouse, and Parx, Valley Forge is a resort. Access to the casino is limited to those who take advantage of the other attractions including the hotel, dining, retail, nightlife, or conventions. You may also purchase a membership.

  • Registered overnight guests will receive access for themselves and any other individuals registered to the same room.

  • Guests of the property who are attending a convention, meeting or a private function are granted access to the casino floor.

  • Guests who spend a minimum of $10 in one of our dining, nightlife or retail outlets are granted access to the casino floor.

  • Individuals who purchase one of our memberships will receive access to the casino floor for themselves and a guest for the term of the membership.
