A person was struck and killed outside of a polling place in Northampton County in eastern Pennsylvania on Election Day Tuesday morning, 11/6. It happened around 10:45 a.m. outside of the Forks Township municipal building. It was being used as a polling site at the time. The victim was taken to St. Luke's University Hospital in Bethlehem where they were pronounced dead. The driver of the minivan remained at the scene. They were released without charges after being questioned by police. Voters continued to enter the building to cast ballots during the investigation outside.

Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver involved in a deadly accident on the Schuylkill Expressway early Tuesday morning, 11/6. It happened around 4 a.m. near Montgomery Drive. A 46-year-old woman was driving a minivan eastbound on I-76 with 5 passengers when she struck two other cars. The minivan flipped and rolled over into the westbound lanes ejecting several passengers onto the roadway. A white work van was traveling westbound and struck two people, killing the female driver. The driver of the van, described as a white male, stopped briefly before taking off. I-76 was closed in both directions until about 8 a.m.

A 911 service outage affecting landline phones in West and Northwest Philadelphia has been fixed. The interruption only affected landline phones. There were no problems using cell phones. It started on Monday evening and was fixed on Tuesday around 11:30 a.m. nearly 16 hours later. The cause of the outage was a Verizon issue. The company said they found damage to fiber optics and copper wires made by a manhole. They've made the necessary repairs.
