A Philadelphia Police officer was shot and injured in Kensington on Wednesday morning. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross identified him as 31-year-old Officer Paul Sulock. It happened near G and Madison Streets just after 11 a.m. Sulock and his partner, both in uniform on routine patrol, happened to interrupt a confrontation between to men. The men were hiding behind cars across the street from one another. One of the men was armed and shot, hitting Sulock in the thigh. Despite being wounded, Officer Sulock chased down and caught one of the suspects. The other suspect is also in custody. Sulock is a 10-year-veteran of the force and is a father of four. He was taken to Temple Hospital in stable condition. Ross said that he is in 'good spirits' and 'is going to be OK.'

The Democrats retake the House and the Republicans hold the Senate after one of the most anticipated, hard-fought, and divisive midterm elections. Locally, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf (Dem) won reelection over Scott Wagner (Rep). Senator Bob Casey (Dem) won reelection over Lou Barletta (Rep). For US Congress, Brian Fitzpatrick (Rep) wins District 1, Brendan Boyle (Dem) wins District 2, Dwight Evans (Dem) wins District 3, Madeleine Dean (Dem) wins District 4, Mary Gay Scanlon (Dem) wins District 5, Christina Houlahan (Dem) wins District 6, and Susan Wild (Dem) wins District 7. In New Jersey, Senator Bob Menendez (Dem) won reelection over Bob Hugin (Rep). For US Congress, Donald Norcross (Dem) wins District 1, Jeff Van Drew (Dem) wins District 2, Chris Smith (Rep) wins District 5, and Bonnie Watson Coleman wins District 12. The race in District 3 between Andy Kim (Dem) and Tom MacArthur (Rep) is still too close to call. In Delaware, Senatore Thomas Carper (Dem) won reelection over Robert Arlett (Rep). U.S. Representative Lisa Rochester (Rep) won reelection to the House. For more election results go to:

A man has been indicted on vehicular homicide charges following a deadly head on collision this past July in Delaware that killed a father and his four daughters. 45-year-old Alvin Hubbard III of East New Market, Maryland was indicted by a grand jury Monday on five counts of second-degree vehicular homicide, three counts of vehicular assault and other offenses. It happened on July 6th about 4 p.m. along Rt 1. in Townsend. Hubbard drove his truck across the median into oncoming traffic. He hit a passenger vehicle and then was hit by the minivan carrying the family. Drugs and alcohol were not a factor. "The indictment alleges that Hubbard operated his truck in a criminally negligent manner when he exited his lane of travel, crossed the center median between a multi-lane highway, and crashed into oncoming traffic," the Delaware Attorney General's Office said in a statement.
