The Monmouth County prosecutor announced Wednesday afternoon, 11/21, that the deaths of four people in the Colts Neck mansion fire are being investigated as homicides. It happened around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, 11/20, at 15 Willow Brook Road near Route 34. Authorities have positively identified the bodies of 50-year-old Keith and 45-year-old Jennifer Caneiro. Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni says they have tentatively identified the two children, 11-year-old Jesse and 8-year-old Sophia, but have not had official word from the medical examiner. They were all killed before the fire was set. Keith was found shot outside. The other three were found inside severely burned. Keith's brother Paul Canerio has been arrested and charged with aggravated arson. 51-year-old Paul is accused of setting his own home on fire the same day. His home is located 10 miles away in Ocean Township. His wife and two daughters were inside at the time. Authorities have not yet released a possible motive or connection between the two fires. Paul and Keith run a technology company.

A Delaware jury had made a ruling for three inmates on charges related to the February 2017 prison riot at Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna. Lt. Steven Floyd died in the uprising. The New Castle County jury found Dwayne Staats guilty of felony murder and other charges. The jury acquitted Jarreau Ayers of murder, but found him guilty of riot, kidnapping, assault, and other charges. Deric Forney was found not guilty on all charges. They are among 18 inmates charged. The others are still awaiting trial.

Delaware Department of Corrections Commissioner Perry Phelps issued this statement:
"The DOC family will never be the same, but the news today is a long-awaited step toward healing and closure. We extend our most sincere gratitude to the members of the jury who put their lives and families on hold to thoughtfully listen to and evaluate the evidence presented to them. We are grateful for the efforts of the Delaware State Police and the Department of Justice who successfully and tirelessly pursued justice on behalf of our fallen officer. The DOC is and always will be: One Family, One Team."

Upper Darby police are searching for a gunman who ambushed a man, shot him, and then fled. The incident was caught on surveillance cameras. It happened around 2 a.m. Sunday, 11/18, on the 7000 block of Terminal Square. The 35-year-old man and his girlfriend had just left a nightclub. He was helping her into the car when the shooter ran out from behind another parked car and fired one shot. The victim was hit in the arm and the bullet exited his back. The shooter just ran off and didn't try to rob them. The man survived and is in stable condition at the hospital.
