A 3-year-old boy was seriously injured on Wednesday, 1/9, when the vehicle he was traveling in was involved in a crash on I-95 with police officers and a fleeing suspect. It happened by the Philadelphia International Airport near the Enterprise Avenue exit. 20-year-old Dejuan Robinson was being chased by police when he struck a vehicle driven by Megan Stone-Kirts. Stone-Kirts was then hit by two police cars. Robinson drove off, eventually crashing again in South Philadelphia and fleeing on foot. He is still on the loose. The family was driving from Baltimore to New York City for a site seeing trip. 5 people were inside Stone-Kirts' vehicle. Her 3-year-old son David Tillman was seriously injured. He is in the ICU at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia suffering from a spinal injury, a brain injury, brain bleed, five to six fractured skull marks, and other injuries to his body. Stone-Kirts and her husband both suffered broken ribs. Her brother has a concussion. Her 2-year-old daughter was uninjured. Two Wilmington police officers and a Pennsylvania State Police trooper were also injured in the crash. Two GoFundMe pages have been set up for the family: https://www.gofundme.com/kirts-family and https://www.gofundme.com/kirtsfamilystrong-support-through-the-crisis.

A suspect has turned himself in and has been charged in the death of a man over the dispute of an unleashed dog in South Philadelphia this past weekend. 24-year-old Matthew Oropeza turned himself in to police on Thursday, 1/10. He has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, simple assault, reckless endangerment of another person and terroristic threats. The incident happened around 9:15 p.m. Saturday 1/5 at the Gold Star Park near South Sheridan and Wharton Streets. 38-year-old Drew Justice and his fiancée were walking their dog in the park when they allegedly told Oropeza he has to leash his dog. Oropeza responded by punching Justice in the face, knocking him over. Justice hit his head on the ground. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The medical examiner ruled that Justice died from blunt force trauma to the head and that it is was homicide.

A naked man led police on a wrong way chase on I-95 from Delaware to Philadelphia on Wednesday night, 1/9. This was the second police chase on I-95 from DE to PA on Wednesday. The first ended with several crashes and that suspect is still on the loose. This chase began around 7:20 p.m. when Delaware State Police received a call about a man driving southbound in the northbound lanes. Police followed as he drove to the Delaware Service Area and turned around, now heading northbound in the northbound lanes. When the suspect hit traffic, he crossed the grass median and once again drove against traffic going northbound in the southbound lanes. Pennsylvania State Police picked up the chase at the border. The suspect was finally stopped when officers used spike strips. The naked man got out and tried to run away, but was caught after a short foot pursuit. He has been identified as 29-year-old Kyle R. Merena of Harrisburg. Delaware State Police have charged him with Reckless Endangering 1st Degree and Disregarding a Police Officers Signal, along with multiple traffic related offenses. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
