Penn State University held their 42nd annual THON dance marathon that raises money to help children and families affected by pediatric cancer. The students danced for 46 hours in the Bryce Jordan Center located on Penn State's main campus in Happy Valley. This year the students raised $10,621,683.76 for the cause. Since the first THON in 1977, the annual fundraiser has now raised close to $170 million for the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital.

An SUV collided with a patrol car injuring both an officer and civilian in Pennsauken, NJ, on Sunday morning, 2/17. It happened just before 6 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Route 130 South at Marlton Pike. Police were on the scene investigating another accident when a female driver crashed into a police cruiser parked at the scene. An officer and a woman were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Philadelphia Police responded to an accident in East Oak Lane early Sunday morning, 2/17, where a car went down an embankment and crashed into several trees. It happened at Cheltenham Road near Crescentville Avenue. The driver lost control and left the road. The vehicle slid about 100 feet down the embankment.
