GRAMMY AWARD-WINNING LINE-UP ANNOUNCED FOR PHILADELPHIA'S FREE JULY 4TH CONCERT AT THE WAWA WELCOME AMERICA FESTIVAL

Film and Music Icon, Jennifer Hudson, performing alongside The Philly POPS BIG Band, and Pop Superstar, Meghan Trainor Slated for Showstopping Performances on the Independence Blue Cross Stage

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, Philadelphia, Pa. (May 2, 2019) - Today, Welcome America, Inc. announced the 2019 Wawa Welcome America July 4th Concert will feature performances from GRAMMY Award-winning icons Jennifer Hudson and Meghan Trainor.

Jennifer Hudson rose from humble beginnings singing in a small Chicago church to reach worldwide acclaim, becoming a household name as a two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning recording artist, Academy Award-winning actress and best-selling author. Jennifer's self-titled debut album was certified gold and sold over a million copies worldwide. A powerhouse of talent and inspiration to many, Hudson continues her legacy through The Julian D. King Gift Foundation, advocating for children of all backgrounds by supporting their health, education, and welfare. For the Wawa Welcome America performance, Hudson's commanding vocals will be accompanied by The Philly POPS® BIG Band, forming a truly unique experience.

Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Meghan Trainor's career was skyrocketed by the smash single "All About That Bass" in 2014, earning the Recording Industry Association of America's diamond certification and solidifying her role as a pop-dynamo after becoming one of only five female artists to receive the award. Trainor is a GRAMMY® Award-winner with seven multi-platinum singles and two platinum albums, has sold out three world tours, and penned multi-platinum hits for peers across pop and country.

The annual Wawa Welcome America July 4th Concert and Fireworks - produced by Live Nation Philadelphia and NBC10/Telemundo62 - is one of the more than 50 free events, including three nights of fireworks, planned for the 2019 Wawa Welcome America six-day festival (Saturday, June 29 through Thursday, July 4). Held on the iconic Benjamin Franklin Parkway for its 27th consecutive year, this event is open to the public and begins promptly at 7 p.m. The show will be broadcasted live in its entirety by NBC10 from 7 to 10 p.m.

The concert will end with one of the largest fireworks display in Philadelphia. Presented by Comcast NBCUniversal and Pyrotecnico, the show will feature a soundtrack custom-made and performed by the U.S. Army Field Band.

Wawa Welcome America is presented by the City of Philadelphia, title partner Wawa, Inc., Comcast NBCUniversal with NBC10/Telemundo62 as the local broadcast partners, Visit Philadelphia, Live Nation, CHASE and Independence Blue Cross.
