A Montgomery County jury has found the man accused of killing 36-year-old Main Line model Christina Kraft in her Ardmore apartment guilty of first degree murder. 31-year-old Jonathan Harris of Johnstown, PA, was also convicted of kidnapping, possession of an instrument of a crime, strangulation, robbery, theft, and receiving stolen property. The jury deliberated for 5 1/2 hours. It happened on August 22nd, 2018, near Suburban Square. Harris had confessed to parts of the gruesome murder, but maintained that he didn't intend to kill her. The prosecution said the evidence proved otherwise. The first degree conviction brings an automatic sentence of life without parole. As he was being led away, Harris said, "I believe justice was served."

A North Philadelphia woman known as "Camel Prom Mom" will avoid jail time for committing social security fraud and instead receive house arrest. 45-year-old Saudia Shuler was sentenced to three years probation with six months home confinement, 100 hours of community service, a $300 special assessment, and $36,785.67 restitution. Shuler is known for throwing extravagant prom sendoff parties costiing tens of thousands of dollars. In 2017, the $25,000 'Dubai to Philly' party for her son featured literally tons of sand, a camel, and exotic cars. She also hosted a large Christmas toy giveaway that December. In 2018, she threw Wakanda themed parties for contest winners with a live cast of characters and a panther. Those also costs $1,000s. Shuler operates a takeout restaurant called Country Cookin'. She applied for Social Security disability in 2014 after having cancer and suffering a stroke. She then continued to accept disability payments and failed to notify the government when she was able to return to work and began to make an income. "Saudia Shuler is not a folk hero or neighborhood champion - she is an admitted thief who stole money from taxpayers in order to fund elaborate parties and enhance her own reputation," U.S. Attorney William M. McSwain said. "Social security funds are meant to help people survive through challenging times, not to finance extravagancies like helicopter rides, exotic animal rentals, or casino gambling binges."

The third person involved in the $400,000 GoFundMe scam has been indicted according to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office. 39-year-old Mark D'Amico was charged on Tuesday, 5/7, with financial facilitation of criminal activity, conspiracy to commit financial facilitation of criminal activity, theft by deception, conspiracy to commit theft by deception, elements of computer theft, and misapplication of entrusted property. D'Amico, along with Kate McClure and Johnny Bobbitt, is accused of making up a feel good story and soliciting online donations. He then spent the money on lavish vacations and gambling. Bobbitt and McClure have already pled guilty to state charges. Bobbitt must complete a multi-year drug treatment probation sentence. McClure is expected to be sentenced to 4 years. Both will testify against D'Amico. He is not facing federal charges like the other two.
