NJ Urinator Charged, Loses Job, 'Huge Mistake'; Pro-Choice Graffiti on Church; Walnut St Ramp Closed

The two New Jersey men who posted video of them peeing on a memorial of a little boy who died from cancer have been arrested and charged in the incident. 23-year-old Bryan Bellace, the urinator, is charged with disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, lewdness and having an open alcoholic beverage in a park. 23-year-old Daniel Flippen, the videographer, was chaged with having an open alcoholic beverage in a park. They were released on a summons. The video was posted to social media on Sunday, 5/19.

The memorial is located in Underhill Park in Mays Landing. It is for 9-year-old Christian Clopp who died of cancer 7 years ago. Several residents who saw the video went to the park to clean up the memorial. Bruce Bellace, Bryan's father, has fired his son from the family business, Bellace Heating and Plumbing. On Monday, 5/20, Bryan was apologetic when talking to ABC News, asking for forgiveness and wanting to make things right. He said, "Not much of an excuse. It was a big mistake I made. I was intoxicated. I didn't know what I was doing at the time. When I came to my senses the next day, I realized I made a huge mistake."

Mark Clopp, father of Christian, said on Facebook, "At the end of the day, the good outweighed and overwhelmed the bad. This is what Christian did during his life. He brought people together and he has accomplished that again. Perhaps the playground will be beautified, maybe expanded as a result. It doesn't matter, as long as it is enjoyed by thousands of children in the future. If we let anger prevail, we've lost the battle. Thanks again, everyone, for coming together and showing how great our community can be, especially in a time of political controversy. It reminds us what is important in life. Thank you again."

This past Sunday morning, 5/19, parishioners at Notre Dame de Lourdes in Swarthmore, PA, arrived to weekly mass to find graffiti scrawled across the church. The words 'You do not have the right to decide what people can do, #ProChoice.' were spray painted across the six front glass doors. '#ProChoice' was also painted on the brick side of the building. Parishioners at the Delaware County Catholic Church had it cleaned up by Sunday afternoon. The vandalism was reported to Ridley Township Police. After reviewing surveillance video, the suspect could be seen committing the act at around 3:17 a.m. on Sunday. Police continue to investigate.

The Walnut Street ramp to the eastbound Schuylkill Expressway I-76 will close for 25 days starting Monday, May 21 at 7 p.m. for structural repairs and resurfacing operations. It is part of a $103.6 million PennDOT project involving area bridges. The ramp is expected to reopen on June 14th.
