A small single engine private plane made an emergency landing on the beach in Ocean City, NJ, on Saturday morning, 6/1. It happened around 8:30 a.m. on the 49th Street beach. Surprised beachgoers caught the landing on video (see below). The Cessna 182 landed on the sand and rolled along the beach before coming to a stop and lurching up on its nose and wing. The plane settled back down with minimal damage. The pilot was the only one on board and was not injured. The plane will be removed after the FAA investigates the incident.

A man was arrested after an early morning barricade situation in Jenkintown, Montgomery County, on Saturday, 6/1. It began around 5 a.m. at the Beaver Hill Condos on the 100 block of West Avenue near Florence Avenue. Police responded to a domestic assault and possible barricaded individual. The 37-year-old male resident allegedly assaulted his girlfriend. She left the apartment and called police from a neighbor's. It is believed the suspect was in possession of a gun. The girlfriend was taken to a hospital to be treated for facial injuries and a broken wrist. Both Jenkintown Police and Montgomery County SWAT responded. Some residents were evacuated while others were told to shelter in place. The suspect eventually surrendered on his own at 10:30 a.m. He is charged with strangulation, aggravated assault, making terroristic threats and other offenses. Residents were allowed back to their apartments.

Philadelphia Police are looking for a suspect who shot and killed a woman while she was sitting in her car. It happened around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, 6/1. on the 400 block of West 65th Avenue in East Oak Lane. The 39-year-old woman was inside her car when a man walked up to her and shot several times. Police found her with the car still running. Authorities are reviewing area surveillance footage.
