The 4th of July is here and celebrations are ready in the birthplace of independence, Philadelphia. Wawa Welcome America Festival concludes with a day of festivities that range from Independence Hall in Old City all the way out to the Art Museum. It starts with the Celebration of Freedom Celebration, the Independence Day Parade, Party on the Parkway, and finally the July 4th Concert and Fireworks. Get out early to Old City for the historical programs. The free Party of the Parkway has amazing local music on multiple stages from noon to 6 pm. Check out the schedule at: https://welcomeamerica.com/event/party-on-the-parkway/ The Chill Moody Stage is highly recommended. The big evening concert features Jennifer Hudson with the Philly Pops and then Meghan Trainor. Before you go check out these tips https://welcomeamerica.com/guides/parkwayguide/ so you know what you can and can't bring inside the fences. Be safe and have a great time! Happy 4th of July!

The grandson of Camden City Council President Curtis Jenkins was found dead late on Tuesday night, 7/3, in Camden. 20-year-old Curtis Jenkins III was abducted on Sunday evening, 6/30. Jenkins III was last seen on the 2700 block of Congress Road and had gone to deliver an order of a platter of food. It turns out the delivery address was fake and he was lured to the location. His father, Curtis Jenkins Jr., says that he got called from the kidnappers who sent a photo of his son tied up and demanded a ransom of 10 to 15 pounds of marijuana. On Tuesday afternoon, police arrested 32-year-old Brandon Beverly of Westville and charged him with kidnapping and aggravated assault. Charges were later upgraded to first degree murder. Beverly used a stolen cell phone to call the father. That phone and a handgun were found at Beverly's house.

Miss May, a 10-foot, 800-lb great white shark that is being tracked by OCSEARCH is now off the coast of the Jersey Shore. The last ping of her tracker showed she was about 40 miles off the coast of Ocean City, NJ. She has been swimming north from Florida over the past month. Former Philadelphia 76er guard T. J. McConnell signed a 2-year, $7 million deal with the Indiana Pacers.

Philadelphia Phillies RF Bryce Harper got his 1,000th hit and 200th home run on the same swing against the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday. That's two milestones in single at bat.
