A woman suspected to be the driver in a hit-and-run accident at a South Philadelphia street race early Saturday morning, 7/20, talked to authorities on Friday morning, 7/26. 21-year-old Albona Kabashi of the Scranton area was escorted into Accident Investigation Division by her attorney Jordan Freeman at around 10 a.m. Police believe that she was driving a white 2003 Nissan 350z with purple puzzle decals near 3rd and Pattison. That white car was involved in a drag race when it lost control and hit another car. A pedestrian woman was also struck and pushed underneath a parked tractor trailer. That pedestrian has been contacted and is recovering. Kabashi's lawyer says that his client is remorseful that someone got hurt. He said that she felt threatened when her car got surrounded by people who told her to drive away. No charges have been filed as of yet, the investigation continues.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in the shooting death of a 15-year-old girl early Thursday morning, 7/25, in Atlantic City. Nahquil Lovest of Pleasantville has been charged with the murder of Naimah Bell, also of Pleasantville. Lovest was arrested without incident on Friday morning, 7/26. The shooting happened Thurs. around 4:15 a.m. in the top floor apartment of a building on the 100 block of South Massachusetts Avenue. Bell was shot once in the head. Neighbors called police when they heard screams early in the morning. The tenant of that apartment had been evicted and moved out the day before. Lovest is being held at Atlantic County Justice Facility. He has a hearing next Wednesday.

Four people have been charged in Bucks County for not paying $1,000s in tolls for 100s of trips along the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Authorities have been going after the turnpike's biggest offenders. Christian M. Rodriguez, 41, of Willow Grove, took 186 unpaid rides between September 2013 and April 2019 for unpaid tolls of $8,018.40. Tatyana Yarmolyuk, 37, of Green Lane, took 136 unpaid trips between March 2012 and October 2018 for unpaid tolls of $5,300.56. Torr J. Robinson, 33, of Philadelphia, took 252 unpaid trips between September 2013 and November 2017 for unpaid tolls of $5016.10. Shirley Chaplin-Sowell, 39, of Philadelphia, took 65 unpaid trips between April 2017 and March 2018, for unpaid tolls of $2,850.05. All four of those also drove on the turnpike on a suspended license at some point.
