Authorities in Bridgeton, Cumberland County, are searching for a 5-year-old girl that went missing at a park Monday afternoon. Dulce Maria Alavez was last seen around 5 p.m. at Bridgeton City Park. Noema Perez, the girl's mother, said that Dulce and her 3-year-old brother were playing on the swings while she was nearby in their car with an 8-year-old relative. That's when the girl disappeared from sight leaving only her brother at the playground. Perez looked all around but couldn't find her. She then called police. The search has focused on the park and surrounding areas thus far. She is described as a Hispanic female, approximately 3' 5" tall and of a medium build. Alavez was last seen wearing a yellow shirt, black and white checkered long pants with a flower design and white sandals. Her dark-colored hair was in a ponytail.

No active shooter was found at Delaware State University after the campus was placed on lockdown on Tuesday morning, 9/17. This morning some students received anonymous texts about a potential shooter. University police took precaution and sent out emergency alerts by text to the university community just after 10 a.m. about the possibility of a shooter and placed the campus on lockdown. All buildings on campus were searched and cleared. The lockdown was lifted at 11:45 a.m. and no shooter was found. Classes were canceled for the rest of the day. "I want to emphasize that there was no active shooter on campus, our protocols functioned as intended, and police units responded immediately. I want to thank everyone for their cooperation and clear thinking in this event," said Executive Vice President/Provost Tony Allen.

Three people have been arrested and charged in a deadly shooting in a Trenton laundromat on Monday, 9/16. It happened around noon at the Liberty III Laundromat on the 200 block of Chambers Street. 21-year-old Geovahnie Fanfan was killed and a 16-year-old boy was critically wounded in the shooting. 74-year-old Eudean "Mama Dean" McMillan, 37-year-old Darryl Parker, and a 15-year-old boy have been charged in the shooting. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office says that it started when a small group of people attacked Parker inside the landromat, kicking and throwing objects at him. Just prior to the attack, McMillan left the laundromat and returned with a gun. She fired at the group attacking Parker and hit a 16-year-old boy. Parker then took the gun and shot Fanfan. The 15-year-old took the gun and also shot Fanfan multiple times. McMillan is charged as an accomplice to murder, attempted murder, and weapons offenses. Parker and the 15yo boy are charged with murder and weapons offenses. McMillan and Parker are being held at the Mercer County Correction Center. The teen is being held at Middlesex County Juvenile Detention Center.
