A Philadelphia police officer and a suspect were shot during a gun battle outside of a SEPTA bus in the Wissinoming section on Thursday morning, 11/21. It happened at 10 a.m. near the intersection of Torresdale Avenue and Howell Street. Police responded to the area for the report of a man with a gun. Officers saw the man board the Route 56 bus and followed him onboard. When they confronted the suspect he pulled a gun. The officers retreated and the man followed them outside the bus. The suspect opened fire on police and they fired back. 37-year-old Officer Donald Revill was hit in the arm. He was taken to Jefferson University Hospital in stable condition. He has since been released. The suspect was struck several times and is in critical but stable condition at Temple University Hospital. There were 15 passengers on the bus. No one else was injured.

Police in Little Harbor Township, NJ, are looking for a man they call "armed and dangerous." Area schools are on lockdown. The man was last seen wearing a blue jacket and riding a blue tricycle (adult bike with three wheels). Dozens of police officers, including an armored truck, are searching the area along Rt. 539 between Church Street and Nugentown Road. If you see the suspect call 911.

UPDATE: The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said the incident started when an officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Route 9 and North Green Street in Tuckerton around 10:22 a.m. The driver opened fire on the officer and fled on the blue bike. That trickle was recovered about a half-mile from the shooting scene. Little Egg Harbor Police released a statement at 3:44 p.m. saying that the suspect was no longer in the immediate area and no longer a danger to local residents, but they did not say where he may have gone. The man is still considered armed and dangerous and wanted.

UPDATE: 29-year-old Miguel Angel Villegas of New Haven, Connecticut was taken into custody without incident by at Penn Station in New York City shortly after 8 p.m. by the New York Police Department.

“Villegas will be charged with Attempted Murder, Kidnapping, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Possession of a Handgun for an Unlawful Purpose,” Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said. “It is my understanding that Villegas is wanted out of Connecticut. We will be seeking extradition from New York to bring him back here to Ocean County to face these charges,” Prosecutor Billhimer added.
