Former Republican U.S. Representative Mike Fitzpatrick of Bucks County passed away on Monday, 1/6, after a long battle with melanoma. He was 56-years-old and is survived by his wife and six children. Fitzpatrick served four terms in Congress from 2005 to 2007 and again from 2011 to 2017. His brother ran and won in his place in 2016. Brian Fitzpatrick continues to serve in the House. Prior to Congress, Mike, served as a Bucks County Commissioner. "Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick served our commonwealth and country with great integrity, competence, and dignity," Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Toomey said. "During his time as a Bucks County Commissioner, and then as a member of Congress, Mike proved time and again that it is possible to work across the aisle to make progress while remaining true to one's principles. Kris and I extend our condolences to Mike's wife Kathleen, their children, and the entire Fitzpatrick family."

There were several others taking oaths today including four new Councilmembers, a Commissioner, Sheriff, Register of Wills, and Judges (see http://phlcouncil.com/inauguration2020/).
