A man in his 30s shot and killed himself during a barricade situation in a Center City high rise apartment building on Tuesday afternoon. Police responded around 1 p.m. to the Sterling Apartment Homes on the 1800 block of JFK Boulevard to reports of a man with a gun and shots fired. Traffic was blocked in both directions along JFK. SWAT gained access to the apartment on the 18th floor and found the man dead from a self-inflicted gun shot wound. A 66-year-old man indicated that the man was his roommate and had been in an argument with another man who was no longer present. A second bullet had been fired out of a window. Investigators located that round. The barricade was lifted just after 2 p.m. and the road was reopened.

She testified that she had gone to his room to smoke marijuana with him but that he locked the door and tried to force her to perform oral sex. She was able to escape. Goldstein was acquitted of sexual assault and indecent assault of junior student in November 2017. This also occurred in his room. She testified that it started as consensual sex put that Goldstein became aggressive and she told him to stop. Goldstein was handcuffed and taken into custody. He will remain in jail until his sentencing on May 4. He could get 4 years in prison. Goldstein’s defense attorney, Perry de Marco, is planning to appeal.

It happened just before 7 p.m. Sunday, 2/16, in the northbound lanes of Roosevelt Boulevard at Bustleton Avenue. Officer John Sears, a 13-year veteran of the force, hit another vehicle and overturned his own car. It was determined that he was above the legal limit.
