Man Shot to Death in Glenside; Three Murders in Philly on Sunday; Penn Relays Canceled

Cheltenham Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in Glenside on Sunday night, 3/15. It happened just after 9 p.m. on the 400 block of West Glenside Avenue. The 28-year-old man was shot in the chest. He was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The identity of the victim has not been released. The circumstances surrounding the shooting is not known. No arrests have been announced. There were three murders in the City of Philadelphia on Sunday, 3/15. 21-year-old Zharif Huff-Ali was shot in a North Philadelphia home just after 12:30 a.m. He died at the scene. Just before 2 a.m., 26-year-old Henry Peterson was shot while sitting in a car in West Philadelphia. He died at the hospital. A 22-year-old woman was shot in the head and is listed in critical condition. Just before 8:30 p.m., 25-year-old Anthony Warren was shot multiple times in the face and torso in West Oak Lane. He died a short time later at the hospital. There have not been any arrests. Police continue to investigate.

Sports
The University of Pennsylvania has announced that the 2020 Penn Relays have been canceled for the first time in its 125 year history. The relays would have been held April 23-25. They hope to have a substitute meet in May/June.

NFL Draft will proceed as scheduled April 23-25. Public events surrounding the draft in Las Vegas have been canceled.
