President Trump announced that the Department of Housing and Urban Development will suspend foreclosures and evictions through April. The administration is working on a $500 billion economic relief plan that would send real checks to millions of Americans. It would come in two waves with the first check sent in early April. The details are still being worked out, and it would have to be be approved by Congress. Two Navy hospital ships, the Mercy and Comfort, are being sent to the East and West coasts. The Comfort will dock in New York City, the Mercy's final location is not yet determined. Trump invoked the Defense Production Act which could be used to ramp up production of medical supplies. Along with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the U.S.-Canada border has been closed to non-essential travel.
