| Wildwoods Boardwalk and Beaches to be Closed; Trenton Curfew; Citizen's Bank Park Test Site Closing |

Wildwood and North Wildwood, New Jersey, have issued a number of new rules regarding use of the beaches, boardwalk, seawall, and bike path in response to coronavirus COVID-19. The beaches will be closed starting midnight Wednesday, April 8th. Sunbathing, sitting in chairs, lying on blankets, organized sports, and grouping of people on the beach is prohibited. Walking, jogging, biking, fishing, surfing, and metal detecting is permitted. The boardwalk in both towns is closed. The North Wildwood bike path and seawall are also closed except that you are allowed to walk, run, or bike before 8 a.m. Short term and transient rentals are also prohibited. These rules last through the end of April.

Following several rounds of deadly gun violence in the City of Trenton on Sunday, Mayor Reed Gusciora has enacted a mandatory curfew for both people and businesses. The curfew started on Monday, 4/6, after 2 people died and five were injured in three separate shootings on Sunday, 4/5. People, who are not working, and businesses, including gas stations, restaurants, and corner stores must adhere to the 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew. Businesses who remain open past the curfew time can be immediately shut down and forced to remain closed for the remainder of the state of emergency. Mayor Gusciora is also cracking down on ATVs and dirt bikes. Besides riding the off road vehicles on the street, it is also illegal to park them on the street or sidewalk. Owners will be fined and risk confiscation. Also, any gas station that is found to be selling gas to an off road vehicle faces shut down.
The coronavirus COVID-19 testing facility outside of Citizen's Bank Park in South Philadelphia will be closing on Friday at 6 p.m. The decision to close the site was made by FEMA. Health Commissioner Farley said there are more than 20 other sites around the region doing testing and that the South Philly site was doing less than 10 percent of the tests. Mayor Jim Kenney said that he supported the federal decision. Any remaining test kits will go to other testing sites in the city and personal protection equipment (PPE) will be distributed to hospitals and long-term care facilities. |
