New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy issued an executive order on Saturday, 4/11, that increased social distancing measures on public transit and in food establishments. All passengers and drivers on NJ Transit as well as on private transit carriers will be required to wear a mask or other face covering when riding unless they cannot for a medical reason. Also, all transit vehicles (bus, train, light rail or paratransit) must cut capacity by 50% of their maximum. Other provisions in the order include contactless payment, back door entry, infection control, and signage reminding people to stay six feet apart.

The order also deals with restaurants, cafeterias, dining establishments, food courts, and other establishments that are continuing to offer food delivery and/or take- out services. Occupancy must be limited to 10% of maximum. Contactless pay/pickup should also be made available. Workers are required to wear masks and gloves. Customers are required to wear a mask to enter the premises to pick up food. Masks are not required for customers for curbside pick-up or delivery. The businesses should provide workers that protective equipment.

"A face covering does not mean a medical-grade mask. We need to keep those for our front-line public health and safety responders." Murphy said.

South Brunswick Police in New Jersey have charged a Florida man for prank calling in large orders of pizza for law enforcement and hospitals in NJ and not paying for them - stiffing the pizza shops and the first responders. Authorities are searching for 34-year-old Sudeep Khetani. He is believed to be in Orlando where he is on probation for selling fake Disney World tickets. Khetani has been charged with theft, but more charges may be coming. In many cases, he would call the restaurants back and tell them how he hated Italians and wanted them to get the coronavirus. Over a dozen restaurants were victim of his scam. In South Brunswick, Kendall Park Pizzeria, Capriccio Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant, Pizza Delizia Restaurant, Giuseppe Pizzeria and Restaurant, and Pierre's Deli were targeted. Restaurants in Montgomery, Plainsboro, and West Windsor were also scammed. The eateries lost thousands of dollars.

Philadelphia Police are looking for two suspects wanted for robbing a Boost Mobile in North Philadelphia earlier this week. It happened at 7:35 p.m. on Wednesday, 4/8, on the 5000 block of North Broad Street. One suspect was armed with a handgun. They made off with $1,500 cash and a box of 18 iPhones worth $18,000. They fled in a beige Chevrolet Impala with PA tag LFA-2171. The car was apparently stolen earlier that day. Both suspects are described as black males, thin builds, in their 20s. Suspect #1 was wearing a surgical mask, denim style baseball hat, black clothing and gloves, grey backpack and armed with a silver and black semiautomatic firearm. Suspect #2 was wearing a black Fila hooded sweatshirt, black mask, blue Adidas pants with a white strip and hi-top checkered Vans sneakers. If you have any information, contact 215.686.TIPS (8477).
