Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf is continuing to urge eligible voters to apply for and cast mail-in votes in the upcoming primary election next month. This is the first time that Pennsylvanians can vote by mail without having to provide a reason. The election was moved to June 2 from April 28 due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. Voters may still not be comfortable heading out to the polls in 4 weeks. If you wish to vote by mail, you can request a ballot at You have until 5 p.m. on May 26 to apply. Gov. Wolf said on Monday, 5/4, that one million voters have already applied for a mail-in ballot. During the last presidential primary in 2016 there were only 80,000 absentee ballots cast. Once you receive your ballot, you have to return it by June 2 at 8 p.m. "I'd like to emphasize how important it is for voters to have their voice heard and be able to cast their ballot even in a pandemic. I encourage voters who wish to sign up for mail-in voting to do so as soon as possible," Gov. Tom Wolf said.
