Make Music Philly is back again Sunday, June 21st! The concept is "All Day. All Over. All Free." The city-wide, free, do-it-yourself music festival usually features professional and amateur musicians performing at traditional venues, non-traditional spaces, and in both organized and informal events all throughout the city. The music spans all genres including Blues, Bluegrass, Folk, Indie-Rock, Jazz, Hip Hop and more. This year, due to coronavirus COVID-19 concerns, most of the events will be held virtually with just a few small socially distanced events held live in-person. You can find listings of both virtual and live performances at

Music will start at 10am with a Live Stream from the Kelly Music Center in Havertown. There will also be music streaming all day from the Delco Quarantine Open Mic page in conjunction with Make Music Philly. The evening will close with the Greater Philadelphia Songwriters Circle. You can view most of the streaming events on the MMP facebook page. See the listings for more details.

Other events include a Virtual Instrument Petting Zoo, Bedroom Studios project, 25×12 music lesson project, Song swap project, Virtual Sing-along/Karaoke, and more.

Make Music Philly joins a global celebration of music held each year on the summer solstice as part of World Music Day. The concept began in 1982 with Fetes de la Musique in France. It first came to the United States in 2006 as National Music Day. Now more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries are involved. Make Music Philly started in Philadelphia in 2013.
