TS Isaias Tropical Storm Warning for Philadelphia; Two Missing Fairmount Boys; Boy Stabbed by 12yo

Philadelphia and the surrounding area is now under a Tropical Storm Warning meaning tropical storm-force winds are possible in the next 36 hours. The area is also under a Flash Flood Watch from Monday evening to late Tuesday Evening. Tropical Storm Isaias is forecast to regain hurricane strength before making landfall near the Carolinas later Monday, 8/3. It will then will be making its way up the East Coast of the United States over the next two days. Our area is currently in the predicted track of the storm, which is still expected to be at tropical storm strength when it passes. The timing will be late Monday throughout Tuesday, with the greater impact later in the day Tuesday into the evening. The Jersey Shore will start to see dangerous riptides and higher surf out in front of the system. Winds are expected to be 35-45 mph, with gusts over 60. Rain will be 3-6 inches, with locally higher amounts. Prepare any outdoor spaces now. See updated charts on track, winds, and rain below.

Philadelphia Police are searching for two boys missing over the weekened. 8-year-old Caliph May and 12-year-old Lorrell Pagent were last seen around 11 a.m. Saturday, 8/1, on the 800 block of North 17th Street in the Fairmount neighborhood. May is described as having a thin build, light complexion, brown eyes, brown hair and weighs 75 pounds. He was wearing a white t-shirt and gray pants. Pagent is described as having a medium build, medium brown complexion, brown eyes, black hair and weighs 87 pounds. He was wearing a red Phillies shirt and orange shorts. A 12-year-old boy was stabbed by another 12-year-old boy in Philadelphia's Point Breeze neighborhood on Sunday night, 8/2. It happened about 10:30 p.m. on the 1700 block South 18th Street. The victim was stabbed in the back. He was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. The other boy was taken into custody. No word on what led up to the attack.


Sports
The Philadelphia Phillies will resume their season tonight, 8/3, against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. The Phillies have been idle for a week after being affected by a coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak on the Miami Marlins. There have been no new positive tests on the Phillies for four days.
