A 17-year-old employee at Sesame Place was punched in the face by a park guest after he reminded him to wear a mask. It happened about 5 p.m. Sunday, 8/9, at the theme park in Langhorne, Bucks County, PA. Earlier in the day, the teen encountered a male and female patron and reminded them that it was required to wear a mask while in the park. Later, while the employee was working at the Captain Cookie's High C's Adventure ride, the same man approached him and punched him in the face. The man and woman were chased by security. They fled in a vehicle with New York plates. The teen was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center in Middletown. He had surgery for a jaw injury and has a damaged tooth. Police are working to identify the suspects. They are believed to be in their 20s.

Sesame Place said, "On Sunday, August 9, a guest assaulted and seriously injured one of our team members. We've been in close communication with the family of our injured team member, and are hopeful for a full and speedy recovery. The health and safety of our guests and team members is our top priority, and violence of any kind is unacceptable and not tolerated at our park. We are cooperating with local law enforcement on this ongoing investigation. Any further questions should be directed to them."

The body of a swimmer who went missing at a lake in Camden County, NJ, on Sunday, 8/9, has been recovered. 35-year-old Eliu Jixon Chavez disappeared while swimming at Penbryn Lake in Winslow Township around 4 p.m. Sunday. He went under the water but never resurfaced. Rescue efforts were called off around 10 p.m. Sunday due to poor visibility. They resumed on Monday morning, 8/10. Chavez's body was recovered on Monday evening.

A homeowner and party promoter have been charged with violating New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy's executive orders after hosting a pool party over the weekend in Camden County. 31-year-old homeowner Jeffrey Davis Jr. of Sicklerville and 28-year-old promoter Marheem Miller of Camden were both charged with three counts of violating the executive orders. Last week, police heard that Davis was planning on hold a large party at his home and warned him against it. Davis and Miller threw the party anyway, despite the warning. Over 250 people paid an admission fee to the festivities. The police were monitoring the whole time and when they broke up the event they found few wearing masks and no social distancing. Eight vehicles were ticketed for parking violations. Davis received a summons for litter for all the trash attendees left in the neighborhood as they left. The party also received a violation of the noise ordinance. Indoor gatherings in NJ have been reduced to 25 people max.
