4 Dead in North Philly House Fire; Kensington Business Fire; Three Men Found Dead in Apartment

Four people were found dead after a house fire in North Philadelphia on Saturday morning, 9/5. It happened just before 8 a.m. on the 3300 block of Kip Street. Firefighters arrived to find flames shooting out from the first floor and had reports of people trapped inside. A 35-year-old mother was found downstairs and her 9-year-old son, 11-year-old daughter, and 17-year-old son were found upstairs. They were all pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the fire in under investigation.

A person was injured in a fire in Kensington early Thursday morning, 9/5. It broke out around 3 a.m. on the 3100 block of Kensington Avenue in a three-story building. The Father and Son convenience store was on the ground floor. The fire spread to a hair salon and a daycare center. It took an hour to bring it under control. The condition of the injured person is unknown. The cause of the fire is being investigated.

Three men were found dead in an apartment in West Philadelphia on Friday night, 9/4. The discovery was made around 8:30 p.m. at the Stephen Smith Towers Apartments on the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue. Police were called to the fourth-floor apartment for the report of three unconscious individuals. Two of the men lived there and one was a visitor. They were ages 53, 55, and 76 years old. The building is a home for senior citizens. Police believe they may have overdosed. The Philadelphia Medical Examiner's Office is investigating the cause of death.
