The City of Philadelphia announced that there will be another citywide curfew starting on Friday night, 10/30, at 9 p.m. until Saturday morning, 10/31, at 6 a.m. The city says that during this time you may leave your house only 'to go to work, seek medical or emergency assistance, or drop off a mail-in ballot.' The Pennsylvania National Guard arrived in the city on Friday afternoon. They will assist Philadelphia Police by guarding city buildings and landmarks and protecting businesses and property from looting.

The police body camera footage and 911 recordings from the fatal shooting of Walter Wallace Jr. on Monday, 10/26, will be made public on Wednesday, November 4, the day after Election Day. Mayor Jim Kenney, District Attorney Larry Krasner, Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw, and the Wallace Family released a joint statement on Friday, 10/30. "The Wallace Family, the Mayor, District Attorney, and Police Commissioner have all agreed that releasing the body camera footage and 911 audio on Wednesday, November 4, by the close of business is in the best interest of our city and its residents. Philadelphians are experiencing an immense amount of pain, and significant unrest persists throughout the entire city. The collective hope of our local government and the Wallace family is that releasing the recordings on November 4 will provide enough time to calm tensions and for the recordings to be released in the most constructive manner possible," the statement reads. Mayor Kenney also said the names of the officers involved will be released on Wednesday.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy is warning residents of a "second wave" of the coronavirus COVID-19. "It is coming and it is coming now," Murphy said. Murphy say down for an interview with CNN on Friday, 10/30. "It's cold, so folks are doing more of their lives inside and we know the virus is much more deadly inside. It's fatigue, honestly. It's folks - who can blame them - but they're getting sick and tired of having to deal with this. And therefore a lot of the cases are coming from private homes, private gatherings," he said. On Wednesday, 10/28, Murphy signed Executive Order 192, which requires employers to follow health and safety protocols to protect in-person workforces. It goes into effect on November 5.
