Philadelphia officials announced on Tuesday, 12/22, that current 'Safer at Home' coronavirus COVID-19 restrictions will be extended two weeks from January 1, 2021, to at least January 15. "We have made progress and saved lives with our Safer at Home restrictions," said Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas Farley. The following activities or lower risk businesses may be allowed to resume on January 4 if Governor Wolf lifts restrictions on the entire state: Museums, Outdoor sports, Gyms, In-person learning for high schools, Outdoor catered events.

Philadelphia Police have released surveillance video of two suspects wanted in the shooting death of a 12-year-old boy in Frankford last month. It happened early in the morning on November 22 on the 5000 block of Ditman Street. 12-year-old Sadeek Clark-Harrison answered the door to his home and was shot in the head through the window. The family says that someone outside was calling his name. Sadeek was home with his 10-year-old sister and his grandmother. There is a $20,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.

President Donald Trump criticized the latest $900 billion COVID-19 relief bill overwhelmingly passed by the Senate and House in a video posted to Twitter on Tuesday night, 12/22. Trump complained about the 5,000+ page piece of legislation saying it is a 'disgrace.' Trump outlined various programs that are part of the bill he disagrees with including several that will be sending millions of dollars to foreign countries. He also wants the direct payments to individuals to be much higher than the $600 in the bill. He wants Congress to amend the bill and "increase the ridiculously low $600 to $2,000, or $4,000 for a couple. I am also asking Congress to get rid of the wasteful and unnecessary items from this legislation and to send me a suitable bill." He said, "Send me a suitable bill or else the next administration will have to deliver a COVID relief package. And maybe that administration will be me."
