A 9-year-old girl was shot and killed inside her home in North Philadelphia on Wednesday morning, 1/20. It happened around 11 a.m. on the 2300 block of Bouvier Street. She was shot once in the head. The child was rushed to Temple University Hospital where she was pronounced dead around 1:50 p.m. The girl was home alone with a 12-year-old and a 5-year-old. The 12yo child called 911 after the shooting. Two guns were recovered from the house. Police say that the 5-year-old somehow got a hold of one of the guns and shot their girl. The father is expected to be charged. He is already in police custody because he is ineligible to be in possession of a weapon.

UPDATE: The father, 39-year-old Blake Davis, is charged with involuntary manslaughter, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors, recklessly endangering another person, and illegal firearms violations.

A Harrisburg woman facing charges that she stole a laptop from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office during the riots at the U.S. Capitol earlier this month will be released from jail pending further hearings in the case. U.S. Magistrate Judge Martin Carlson released 22-year-old Riley June Williams into the custody of her mother on Thursday, 1/21. She is under travel restrictions and will be electronically monitored. Williams is ordered to appear in federal court in Washington, D.C., on Monday. She is accused of theft, obstruction and trespassing, as well as violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. The FBI received a tip from a former romantic partner that Williams stole a laptop from the Speaker's office and intended to sell it to Russia.

Three people were shot and killed on Wednesday, 1/20, and almost a dozen more were injured in multiple shootings across the city. Around 6:30 p.m., 52-year-old Gladys Coriano was shot while sitting inside her car. She was parked outside her home on the 900 block of Hartel Avenue in Fox Chase. Police says it was a drive-by shooting. She died at the hospital hours later. Around 9:30 p.m., a 22-year-old man was shot multiple times and killed on the 200 block of N. Felton Street in West Philadelphia. Around 11 p.m., a 26-year-old man was shot and killed at 25th and Gordon street in Strawberry Mansion.
