A four-alarm blaze broke out on the Ocean City boardwalk on Saturday morning, 1/30. It happened around 7:40 a.m. at Playland's Castaway Cove on the the 1000 block of Boardwalk. Flames and heavy smoke could be seen engulfing the pirate ship atop of the arcade. Hamburger Construction Company and Dairy Queen were also destroyed in the fire. The fire was brought under control before noon. Nothing else was damaged and no one was injured. Playland's Castaway Cove posted on Facebook, "WE WILL REBUILD!!" The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Philadelphia Police have arrested three men believed to be connected to a series of thefts at convenience stores and gas stations that target "Pennsylvania Skill" games. 32-year-old Tyreek Holmes, 20-year-old Russell Mason-Watts, and 36-year-old Marcus Evans all of Philadelphia were arrested on Thursday night, 1/28, after unsuccessfully robbing a 7-Eleven on the 7900 block of Veree Road in Fox Chase. The other thefts had occurred at locations in Northeast Philadelphia and Bensalem. The suspects go into the stores and topple over these new games. They use a sledgehammer to break into the chassis and take out the cash box. It only takes a few minutes. These "Pennsylvania Skill" games are popping up all over. They feature a number of simple video games where the user can win money. The game prints out a ticket which is paid out by the store.

Philadelphia Police are searching for the gunman in a double shooting in Point Breeze on Friday night, 1/29, that injured two teenagers. It happened just before 9 p.m. on the 1600 block of South 20th Street. An 18-year-old man was shot multiple times in the chest. He was taken to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center in critical condition. A 17-year-old girl was shot in the leg. She was rushed to Jefferson University Hospital in stable condition. No arrests have been made and no weapons were recovered.
