Federal officials have arrested and charged two Bucks County woman for their role in the riot at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. on January 6. Dawn Bancroft and Diana Santos-Smith have been charged with knowingly entering and remaining in a restricted building, engaging in disorderly or disruptive conduct in restricted buildings or grounds, and violent entry and disorderly conduct. The two entered the building through a broken window. That was captured on CCTV video. They both told investigators they were only inside briefly before deciding to leave. Bancroft was heard on another video. "We broke into the Capitol... we got inside, we did our part," she said. "We were looking for Nancy to shoot her in the friggin' brain but we didn't find her," she also allegedly said in supposed reference to Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Philadelphia's Acting Deputy Health Commissioner Dr. Caroline Johnson resigned on Saturday night, 1/30, amid the fallout surrounding Philly Fighting COVID. Johnson had shared information about the request for proposal (RFP) for the city's vaccination clinic to two vendors - Philly Fighting COVID and Black Doctors Covid-19 Consortium. That information was not made available to all potential applicants.

STATEMENT FROM CITY:
Today we learned that Acting Deputy Health Commissioner Dr. Caroline Johnson communicated about the vaccination RFP with at least two vendors - Philly Fighting Covid and the Black Doctors Covid-19 Consortium.

These communications were made after the RFP was publicly posted. However, these actions were inappropriate because the information shared was not available to all potential applicants.

When presented with this information, Dr. Johnson tendered her resignation. While these actions may have been intended to help advance the City's vaccine distribution effort, the Health Commissioner has accepted her resignation in the best interest of the city.

Commissioner Farley has also referred this matter to the City of Philadelphia Inspector General. The Health Department remains committed to responding to the pandemic and distributing vaccine as quickly and safely as possible, as directed by the Mayor.
