Philadelphia School District Window Fans; Bruce Castor Join Trump Legal Team; Winter Weather Warning

The School District of Philadelphia has released a video showing the installation of new window fans to help with ventilation in classrooms when students return to school. PreK-2 students will be starting a hybrid schedule on Monday, February 22. These window fans are just part of the school district's strategy to deal with air flow in the buildings and safety overall. "Proper ventilation in our schools is one of the layers of safety that will be in place in all of our school district buildings as we prepare to phase students back to in-person learning. Certified ventilation experts have tested nearly every room in every school district building to assess air flow. This is an unprecedented effort in our District, and likely the most comprehensive effort being done by any large public school district in the country." See the 'Facts About Ventilation' link below for more answers about the school district's ventilation efforts.

Former Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor has been chosen to represent former President Donald Trump at his upcoming impeachment trial. "I consider it a privilege to represent the 45th President. The strength of our Constitution is about to be tested like never before in our history. It is strong and resilient. A document written for the ages, and it will triumph over partisanship yet again, and always," said Castor in a statement.

The Republican served as DA for Pennsylvania's third most populous county just outside Philadelphia from 2000 to 2008. He declined to charge Bill Cosby for a 2004 sexual assault at the time because "insufficient, credible and admissible evidence exists upon which any charge against Mr. Cosby could be sustained beyond a reasonable doubt." Cosby has claimed that Castor offered not to charge the entertainer in exchange for his testimony in a 2005 civil deposition. That agreement. however, was never put on paper. It is also one of two arguments at the center of Cosby's conviction appeal currently at the PA Supreme Court.

From 2008-2016, he served on the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners. From March-September 2016, Castor served as Solicitor General of Pennsylvania. He was tasked with making legal decisions for the state since AG Kathleen Kane's law license was suspended. He briefly served as Acting Attorney General during that time after Kane resigned.

Defense lawyer David Schoen will also be representing Trump. The former president was impeached for a second time last month. He is accused of inciting a crowd of supporters to riot on. The result was an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol building that stopped the official counting of Electoral College by the Vice President in front of a joint session of Congress on January 6. Trump has had trouble finding and retaining lawyers willing to represent him during the impending Senate trial.
