Delaware County authorities have identified the suspect wanted in a shooting at a Walmart on Sunday morning, 2/14. Police are looking for 28-year-old Devante Dixon. It happened at the store at 50 North MacDade Blvd in Glenolden around 8:30 a.m. after an argument between the shooter and an employee, possibly over a video game. "From what we received at the store this is just a random act. These two did not know each other. It was some sort of verbal argument that the suspect had with the employee possibly over a video game sale," said Darby Township Police Chief Mike Sousa. It happened in the front vestibule. No one was hurt. SWAT and police then spent hours staked outside the suspect's house on Main Street in Darby, but Dixon ended up not being home. Police have seized both of his vehicles. "He's either possibly on foot or somebody picked him up," said Sousa. "The subject I would say is armed and possibly dangerous." He is described as 5' 7" and 175 lbs. He is known to frequent the Darby Borough area. If you have any information, call the Darby Township Police Department at 610-583-3245.

Cheltenham High School is returning to virtual learning on Tuesday, 2/16, due to staffing shortages. The school had moved to a hybrid model earlier this month, but have had issues in staffing with teachers, support staff, custodians, and school administrators. "It became difficult with the staffing to create not only a safe environment but a good instructional environment for our students," Dr. Renato Lajara, the principal of the school, said. School officials say this pivot back to virtual will only be temporary, they hope to revist the hybrid model in two to three weeks. Students with special needs will continue to have in-person instruction.
