The former Trump Plaza Casino along the Boardwalk in Atlantic City was imploded on Wednesday morning, 2/17. The casino was opened by then real estate developer Donald Trump in 1984. His involvement in the property ended in 2009, but his name remained on the building. It closed in 2014. Current owner, Carl Icahn, has not mentioned any plans for the site. Local leaders started calling for its demolition after pieces of the facade began falling to the ground.

A 48-inch water main break in North Philadelphia on Tuesday night, 2/16, caused massive flooding in the streets and flooded cars in a parking lot. It happened around 6 p.m. on the 2900 block of West Hunting Park Avenue near Westmoreland Street. The Philadelphia Fire Department responded and used boats to rescued 11 trapped people. Many were trapped at at U-Haul self storage facility that had become surrounded by water and flooded the first floor. Another person was inside their car when it became submerged in the waters. "We were able to rescue the woman from her vehicle that was trapped in the floodwater and there were 10 people inside U-Haul," said Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Adam Thiel. Hunting Park Avenue between 29th and Westmoreland is expected to be closed for about a month as repairs are made. The cause of the break is still being determined.

Philadelphia Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas Farley said on Tuesday, 2/16, that they expect to be able to vaccine everyone in the city by July. "I can estimate we will be in phase 1B until approximately the end of April, and phase 1C until approximately the end of May," Farley said. "And then we’ll be in phase 2, and then phase 2, everyone is eligible in June and we would reach everyone who wants a vaccine by the end of July." The city's vaccination distribution will expand as the vaccine supply from the CDC increases.
