A Burlington County home caregiver was arrested and faces additional charges after an investigation revealed additional instances of sexual abuse against an impaired teenage girl. 34-year-old Edmondo DiPaolo of Pemberton Township has been additionally charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He initially had been charged with aggravated sexual assault, attempted aggravated assault, and endangering the welfare of a child. The new charges come after investigators reviewed nearly 200 hours of video recorded at the girl's home. The 15-year-old teen has a neurological disorder and is immobile, partially blind, and unable to speak. She is fed and medicated through tubes. DiPaolo worked as a private duty nurse in the girl's Southampton home for about 5-months. He was initially charged in March 2020. A statement from police said that the girl suffered a broken femur while he "was harshly adjusting her position prior to sexually assaulting her." "DiPaolo also pushed her face into a pillow, squeezed her throat and shoved a stuffed animal into her mouth to restrict her breathing," it continued. DiPaolo was arrested at his home on the 100 block of Daniels Avenue on Thursday, 3/11. He was released after making an appearance in Superior Court on Friday, 3/12.

Police in Burlington Township, NJ, are investigating after a woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Saturday morning, 3/13. It happened around 2:30 a.m. on Campus Drive between Sunset Road and Autumn Lane. 46-year-old Rochelle Ritter may have been struck by a tractor-trailer or box truck traveling northbound on Campus Drive towards Route 130. A passerby found her on the roadway and called 911. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The Burlington Township Police Department and Burlington County Prosecutor's Office are investigating. If you have any information, contact BTPD Traffic Safety Unit Officer Matthew Kochis at 609-386-2019 or BTPD Investigations Bureau Det. Ruben Ortiz-Cruz at 609-239-5889.

Temple University Police are investigating the sexual assault of a female student. It happened early Saturday morning, 3/13, at an off-campus residence on the 1200 block of North Broad Street near West Girard Avenue. An alert went out to students. Police have not released many details at this time. They remind students to walk in well-lit, well-traveled areas. Also, Temple University Police provides an escort service between between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. for students who do not wish to walk alone. If you have any information, contact Temple University Police at 215-204-1234.
