NJ Police Required to Wear Body Cam; Bear Sightings in Bucks Co; Joel Embiid Doubtful for Game 5

Starting Tuesday, June 1, all NJ police officers must wear body cameras while on patrol. Governor Phil Murphy was in Camden, NJ, with other state and local officials to mark the day. "We are witnessing a new chapter in policing in New Jersey with the reforms we are implementing in partnership with law enforcement and community leaders. And, with the body cameras we are funding, we will literally have an objective witness to how police carry out their duties," Murphy said. Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said, "By acting as an unbiased witness to law enforcement actions, they help to safeguard equal justice, while also protecting the vast majority of officers who do the right thing day-in and day-out." However, the program is not fully implemented across the state. Murphy said that that 487 departments across New Jersey had applied and been approved for about $58 million in grants to buy cameras.

Residents in Bucks County have reported sightings of a young black bear roaming throughout yards and streets on Monday and Tuesday. The bear was seen in the area of Lower Makefield Township and Falls Township. The game commission has been notified and will attempt to trap the animal and relocate it upstate. It you see the bear, keep your distance.

Philadelphia 76ers C Joel Embiid is doubtful for Wednesday's Round 1 - Game 5 against the Washington Wizards. Embiid injured his right knee in the first quarter of Monday's Game 4 and left the game shortly after for evaluation. He'll be reevaluated before gametime. The Sixers lead the series 3-1.
